POSITION PURPOSE The Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina is seeking a REDCap Administrator to support Tribal research, health, and community programs. This position is responsible for the administration of the Tribe’s REDCap databases and provides support for qualitative data analysis using NVivo software. Helping staff collect, manage, and analyze data accurately, securely, and in ways that benefit the Lumbee people. ESSENTIAL DUTIES, FUNCTIONS, & RESPONSIBILITIES Serve as the primary administrator for user account management, permissions, and project setup within the REDCAP system. Design, build, and maintain REDCap projects, including surveys, longitudinal instruments, branching logic, calculated fields, and data validation rules. Ensure data security, privacy, and compliance with institutional, regulatory, and IRB requirements. Provide troubleshooting and technical support for REDCap users. Develop and maintain documentation, standard operating procedures, and best practices for REDCap use. Manage data imports, exports, and integrations with other systems as needed. Monitor system performance and coordinate with IT or external vendors on upgrades, backups, and maintenance NVivo Software Support. Provide user support and consultation for qualitative data analysis using NVivo. Assist research teams with project setup, data import, and running analyses. Train users on NVivo functionality, qualitative analysis methods, and data management best practices. Support mixed-methods research by coordinating qualitative data workflows with REDCap and other data systems. Troubleshoot NVivo software issues and coordinate with vendors or IT support as needed Training and Collaboration. Will work with partners nationally including fellow Tribes, federal and state agencies, Tribal Epidemiology Centers (TECs), and nonprofit organizations. Conduct training sessions, workshops, and one-on-one consultations for REDCap and NVivo users. Collaborate with investigators, analysts, and research staff to understand project requirements and recommend appropriate data solutions. Stay current with REDCap and NVivo updates, features, and emerging best practices in research data management. MINIMUM MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS Experience: Demonstrated experience with both REDCap and NVivo Familiarity with quantitative and qualitative research methods Education: Bachelor’s degree in information systems, public health, social sciences, data science, or a related field (or equivalent experience) Mandatory Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Qualifications: Good communication skills, writing skills, and the ability to relate to diverse populations will be required, with a working knowledge and expertise in data processing and computer technologies. Strong understanding of research data management principles Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skill Must possess a valid NC driver’s license. WORK ENVIRONMENT Work environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative to those an employee encounters while performing the primary functions of this job. Normal office conditions exist, and the noise level in the work environment can vary from low to moderate. Limited overnight travel may be required from time to time. Physical demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the primary functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to frequently stand, walk, sit, bend, twist, talk, hear and perform repetitive motions. There may be prolonged periods of sitting, keyboarding, reading, as well as driving or riding in transport vehicles. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include reading, distance, computer, and color vision. Talking and hearing are essential to communicate with clients, vendors, and staff. Mental demands: There are a number of deadlines associated with this position. The employee must be able to handle frequent interruptions and must also multi-task and interact with a wider variety of people on various and, at times, complicated issues.
