Position SummaryThe Vintage European Auto Technician is a highly skilled automotive professional responsible for the assembly, restoration, repair, diagnostics, and validation of complex vehicle systems. This role spans all major automotive subsystems—including mechanical, electrical, fuel, and chassis—and involves advanced diagnostics, custom integration, and performance validation.The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise, strong independent problem‑solving ability, and a craftsmanship‑driven mindset. Experience with classic European vehicles, particularly Porsche, along with EFI, Bosch fuel systems, and electrical diagnostics, is highly valued. Key ResponsibilitiesVehicle Build, Repair & IntegrationPerform full vehicle tear-downs, assemblies, repairs, restorations, and upgradesExecute subsystem and component-level work, including suspension, brakes, powertrain installation/removal, tire mounting and balancing, and interior installation/removalInstall custom, add-on, and specialty equipment using appropriate methods and locationsDiagnostics & PerformanceDiagnose mechanical, electrical, fuel, and performance issues using advanced diagnostic toolsTest, evaluate, and validate vehicle systems and performance dataConduct road tests to verify repair quality and system functionalityCollaboration & PlanningCollaborate with body, fabrication, interior, and project management teams to ensure system integrationResearch, recommend, and source OEM, aftermarket, and custom partsAnticipate project needs and proactively identify risks, parts requirements, and workflow impactsQuality & DocumentationPerform comprehensive vehicle inspections and document findings and recommendationsMaintain accurate documentation of diagnostics, labor, and materialsEnsure all work meets Kellymoss quality, safety, and procedural standardsAdditional ResponsibilitiesFollow all company policies, shop procedures, and safety requirementsAttendance is an essential function of the rolePerform other duties as assigned QualificationsEducationHigh school diploma requiredFormal technical training or equivalent hands-on experience in: Automotive technologyMotorsports engineeringAdvanced vehicle diagnosticsASE certification preferredAdditional training in EFI, diagnostics, or Bosch fuel systems is highly desirableExperience6+ years of hands-on experience in motorsports, high-performance automotive, or specialty European shopsStrong experience with classic European vehicles (Porsche, BMW, Mercedes, VW/Audi preferred)Proven experience with CIS fuel systems, carburetors, and electronic fuel injectionBosch fuel system experience preferredFamiliarity with MoTeC and MFI systems is a strong plusFabrication experience a plus Skills & CompetenciesAdvanced knowledge of restoration and performance automotive systemsStrong diagnostic skills across mechanical, electrical, fuel, and performance systemsAbility to work independently and solve complex technical challengesHigh attention to detail and commitment to craftsmanshipAbility to evaluate engine/system data and apply corrective actionStrong communication and teamwork skillsAbility to research and source specialized partsMust supply professional-grade tools appropriate for workloadValid driver’s license (required for road testing)Fluent in English (verbal and written) Work Environment & Physical RequirementsEnvironmentOffice: Quiet, standard office settingShop: Low to moderate noise levels with occasional higher exposureExposure to temperature variations typical of workshop environmentsHearing protection may be requiredPhysical RequirementsRegular standing, walking, and use of hands/toolsFrequent lifting up to 50 lbs; occasional lifting up to 100 lbsAbility to bend, kneel, crouch, reach, climb, and balanceVision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perceptionReasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
