Safety Manager

Safety ManagerThe Safety Manager supports the Division Safety Leader in enforcing and regulating all safety procedures to ensure compliance with applicable safety requirements across field operations and facilities. This role is responsible for managing and coordinating division safety activities and supporting fabrication shop safety efforts within Maryland.Key ResponsibilitiesTour and inspect fabrication facilities to ensure compliance with company, state, and federal OSHA regulationsPartner with Operations management to identify and mitigate risksReport safety concerns to senior leadership and ensure enforcement of OSHA regulations and company safety policiesDocument safety inspections, identify hazardous areas or procedures, and recommend corrective actionsEnsure non-compliance issues are resolved within designated timeframesMaintain required safety documentation, including accident reports, inspection reports, and training logsTrack trends and injury rates; develop and implement loss control strategiesProvide emergency response support as neededParticipate in accident and injury investigations; submit required documentation to regulatory agenciesContribute to safety training materials and manage employee training programsLead and mentor less-experienced safety professionals; may include direct supervisionLead and manage special safety projectsPerform additional duties as assignedQualificationsBachelor's degree in Safety, Health, Environmental Applied Sciences, or related discipline preferred7–10 years of relevant safety experience, including employee trainingCPR/AED and First Aid certifications requiredOSHA 10-hour, OSHA 30-hour, and OSHA 40-hour training requiredOSHA 500, NFPA 70E, CHST, or ASP certifications requiredCSP certification preferredStrong working knowledge of health and safety management systems, OSHA CFR 1926, CFR 1910, EM 385 standards, and/or state construction safety regulationsExcellent oral and written communication skillsStrong attention to detail and problem-solving abilitiesStrong organizational and project management skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to access OSHA resources onlineThorough knowledge of safety operating processes and proceduresAbility to lead and train employees; prior people management experience preferredAbility to travel to other fabrication locations within MarylandCompensation & BenefitsAnnual performance-based incentiveComprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage401(k) plan with company match and immediate vestingLife and disability insuranceFlexible spending accountsPaid parental leavePaid holidays, vacation, and personal timeProfessional development and company-supported certifications/membershipsWellness benefits
