Managing Director – Financial Advisory, M&A & Business ConsultingPosition OverviewWe are seeking a highly accomplished Managing Director to join a leading Financial Advisory and Business Consulting firm. This individual will play a critical leadership role in driving value creation for Private Equity clients and their portfolio companies.The Managing Director will be responsible for originating and leading engagements, building trusted relationships with PE sponsors and C-suite executives, and delivering strategic, operational, and financial advisory solutions that enhance performance and maximize enterprise value.This is a highly visible, revenue-generating role requiring a blend of business development, client leadership, and hands-on execution across complex financial and operational initiatives.Key ResponsibilitiesPrivate Equity & Client Relationship ManagementServe as a senior trusted advisor to Private Equity sponsors, portfolio company CEOs, and CFOsBuild, expand, and maintain deep relationships across PE firms and their portfolio companiesAct as the primary point of contact for client engagements, ensuring exceptional delivery and long-term partnership growthIdentify opportunities to support portfolio companies across the investment lifecycle (pre-deal, post-acquisition, hold period, and exit)Business Development & Revenue GrowthOriginate new business through an established network within the Private Equity ecosystemDrive firm revenue by identifying, scoping, and closing advisory engagementsPartner with firm leadership on go-to-market strategy, thought leadership, and brand positioningLead proposal development, pitch presentations, and contract negotiationsStrategic & Operational AdvisoryLead high-impact initiatives focused on value creation, including:Liquidity management and 13-week cash flow forecastingWorking capital optimization and cash accelerationEBITDA enhancement and margin improvement strategiesFinance transformation and CFO-office optimizationAdvise on complex business challenges including performance improvement, restructuring, and turnaround situationsSupport M&A activities including due diligence, integration planning, and exit readinessEngagement Leadership & ExecutionOversee multiple concurrent client engagements, ensuring quality, timeliness, and client satisfactionProvide executive-level oversight on financial modeling, operational initiatives, and transformation programsLead cross-functional teams to deliver actionable insights and measurable outcomesEnsure alignment between client objectives and project executionLeadership & Talent DevelopmentMentor and develop Directors, Vice Presidents, and AssociatesFoster a high-performance, collaborative team environmentProvide guidance on best practices in financial advisory, consulting delivery, and client managementContribute to recruiting, training, and retention of top consulting talentQualificationsExperience10–15+ years of experience in Private Equity, Investment Banking, Transaction Advisory, Restructuring, or top-tier Financial ConsultingProven track record of building and maintaining relationships with Private Equity firms and portfolio company executivesDemonstrated success in originating and leading advisory engagements within PE-backed environmentsExperience working closely with CFOs and finance organizations on transformation and value creation initiativesTechnical ExpertiseDeep expertise in financial modeling, including 13-week cash flow forecasting and integrated financial modelsStrong understanding of capital structures, liquidity management, and operational performance improvementExperience with M&A transactions, due diligence, and post-merger integrationAbility to translate complex financial and operational data into strategic insightsLeadership & Interpersonal SkillsExceptional executive presence and communication skillsStrong leadership, negotiation, and influencing capabilitiesEntrepreneurial mindset with a strong drive for business developmentAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth, client-facing environmentEducation & CredentialsBachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related fieldMBA strongly preferredProfessional certifications such as CPA, CFA, or equivalent are highly desirableWhy Join UsOpportunity to work with top-tier Private Equity firms and high-growth portfolio companiesHigh-impact role with direct influence on firm growth and client successEntrepreneurial environment with significant leadership visibilityCompetitive compensation structure with performance-based incentives
