Site Supervisor (Licensed or PrimeTime Programs)
POSITION PROFILE:
The Site Supervisor supervises, administers and manages the Extended Day before and after school programs, on a public school site within the San Diego Unified School District.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage and supervise an Extended Day after school until 6:00p.m. (Before school if applicable).
Adhere to guidelines set forth by regulatory agencies and funding sources including but not limited to CCL, SDUSD and County.
Plan, coordinate, and implement age-appropriate educational, recreational, social, and multi-cultural activities for children.
Engage in a variety of indoor and outdoor activities including any or all of the following: physical fitness, organized sports, academic projects, fine arts and practical arts.
Supervise children and ensure their safety at all times.
Assist in the hiring of site staff.
Supervise program teachers, teacher’s aides, volunteers, and/or interns as required.
Maintain complete and current staff files.
Submit accurate and timely staff evaluations.
Conduct meetings with program staff, monthly, and as needed.
Responsible for staff development including assisting in orientation and on-going training for all site staff.
Direct staff to use positive techniques to guide the behavior of children and youth.
Supervise staff to ensure they relate to all children and youth in positive ways.
Develop and supervise program components.
Supervise the preparation and provide daily snacks for children in accordance with program guidelines.
Ensure appropriate physical, social, and emotional environment with the program.
Maintain complete and current records of program participants.
Purchase appropriate and adequate supplies and materials.
Incorporate excellent time management skills each day.
Establish and maintain emergency procedures.
Ability to respond appropriately in emergency situations.
Maintain accurate enrollment and attendance record keeping including sign-in sheets and database.
Produce computer generated monthly newsletter and calendar that meets funding and program requirements.
Provide ongoing management of site budget.
Maintain knowledge with Child Abuse Reporting responsibilities.
Maintain site safety, appropriate environment, equipment, and materials, in accordance with regulations.
Attend meetings, trainings, and agency functions as required, some of which will occur outside of regular work hours.
Provide ongoing enrollment maintenance through contact and communication with parents, enrollment coordinator, and school personnel.
Conduct parent conferences as needed.
Maintain recruitment through contact and communication with parents, staff, school personnel and other professionals.
Other tasks as assigned by the Mentor.
QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience and Certifications):
Training and experience (1-4 yrs. preferred), in the supervision and management of educational, and recreational programs for children ages 5 to 14 years old.
Knowledge and competence of Microsoft Office.
BA preferred OR a minimum of 48 college units OR passed CAPE exam.
Current CPR and First Aide must be provided within 30 days of employment.
Immunization Records (influenza, pertussis and measles) must be provided before first day of employment.
Favorable pre-employment DOJ/FBI fingerprinting clearance and child abuse index processing required.
Favorable pre-employment TB test and health screening required.
Access to reliable transportation required.
Have a driving record that complies with SAY Driving Policies

Ability to demonstrate an understanding of policies and procedures set forth in the program manual and implement accordingly.

Ability to communicate with children and adults.
Capable of independent judgment, and planning.
