DescriptionDesigning and overseeing architecture for software systemsEnsuring compliance with DoD frameworks such as Risk Management Framework (RMF), STIGs, and cybersecurity requirementsDefining system architecture, interfaces, data flows, and integration with legacy and tactical systemsLeading technical decisions across classified and unclassified environmentsCollaborating with government stakeholders, program managers, and engineering teams to align technical solutions with mission objectivesEvaluating and implementing secure technologies suitable for air-gapped, on-premise, and cloud (e.g., GovCloud) environmentsSupporting Authority to Operate (ATO) processes and documentationProviding guidance on secure coding practices and system hardeningConducting architecture reviews, code reviews, and risk assessmentsMentoring engineering teams and enforcing engineering standards and best practicesRequirementsBachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or related fieldEight or more years of software development experienceExperience working on DoD or federal government contractsStrong knowledge of secure system architecture and cybersecurity principlesExperience with architecture patterns (micro-services, service-oriented, event-driven, and monolithic systems)Proficiency in languages such as Java, C++, or PythonExperience with Linux-based systems and secure environmentsFamiliarity with DoD compliance standards (RMF, NIST 800-53, STIGs)Desired SkillsActive security clearance (active Secret and must be eligible for Top Secret)Three or more years in architecture or technical leadership rolesExperience with U.S. Department of Defense cloud environments (e.g., AWS GovCloud, Azure Government)Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) in secure environmentsExperience with embedded systems, real-time systems, or naval platformsClearance InformationSRC IS A CONTRACTOR FOR THE U.S. GOVERNMENT, THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE U.S. CITIZENSHIP AS WELL AS, A U.S. GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE TOP SECRET / SCI LEVELTravel RequirementsUp to 5-10% travelAbout UsScientific Research Corporation is an advanced information technology and engineering company that provides innovative products and services to government and private industry, as well as independent institutions.
