We have staked our reputation on our ability to deliver each of these.Job Duties and Responsibilities• Over see the accounting department that includes a controller, assistant controller and a staff of 7• Oversight of monthly financial reporting for all entities• Provide further development of controller and assistant controller• Provide financial leadership to the organization and related entities• Lead education efforts for non-financial managers on financial management• Oversee annual budgeting process for Kerr Contractors• Lead short-term & long-term financial strategy in participation with the executive team• Lead/manage relationship with outside CPAs including annual reviews/audits/income taxes/consulting• Oversee cash flow management and forecasting/advise main principals• Serve as a strategic advisor to the main principals of the enterprise• Advise principals on capital allocation• Provide income tax minimization strategies to main principals for the enterprise and Kerr Contractors’ executive team• Lead income tax planning for the enterprise• Provide support/advisement to affiliated company’s general managers• Direct/lead monthly strategy meetings with affiliated companies• Provide financial oversight of business acquisition opportunities and potential sales of affiliated companies• Work closing with in-house counsel on risk management, tax and financial strategies• Provide financial modeling/financing strategies on real estate acquisition/developments• Lead finance change management initiatives that impact the entire organization• Oversee the property and casualty insurance program for the enterprise• Oversee banking relationships for entire enterprise• Manage relationship with the surety carrier and brokerSummaryThe Kerr enterprise includes over 20 active entities that are involved in the following business segments:Equipment rentals/dealership Rock crushing/quarry operations RecyclingHeavy/civil construction Demolition Real estate leasing Real estate development Steel/metal fabrication AviationAnnual consolidated revenues are over $170.0M. Kerr is a recognized brand and has a great reputation in the Portland Oregon area. Kerr Contractors is seeking to expand its footprint outside of Oregon. This position is key in helping accomplish this strategy. The right candidate needs to be flexible and adaptable to change as the enterprise is always pursuing/executing transactions in a fast-paced environment. Qualifications• BS accounting degree, CPA preferred• 10+ years of related construction finance and accounting leadership experience• Experience in helping organizations scale their businesses• Good communicator - knows how to relay financial information to non-financial people.• Leadership experience in change management initiatives
