Guided by our values of safety, loyalty, integrity and respect, we are committed to delivering meaningful value for shareholders, customers, employees and the communities where we operate.The responsibility of the Material Receiving Coordinator is to ensure that warehouse is well distributed, identifying all types of material by name and code, supplying our raw material to production lines, materials, equipment and supplies to build product when needed with zero down time and meeting the company's goal of safety, quality, productivity, and delivery. The Material Receiving Coordinator works in multiple capacities including packaging, pulling material, and palletizing. This role includes Shipping and Receiving, knowledge in physical inventory counts, knowledge of FIFO and Kanban is essential in this position. The candidate must show that they can train and lead by example in a fast-paced work environment.$17.50-$22/HR M-F 1p-9p OVERTIME AND WEEKENDS AS NEEDEDHow you will impact Smurfit Westrock:Perform all work in accordance with the highest standards of Smurfit Westrock-Vitop safety policies, ensure all safety policies and processes are enforced.Successfully complete all essential trainingOperates material handling equipment such as forklifts, stand up lifts, tuggers, pallet jacks, hand trucks or dollies to pick, move, stock and/or reorganize materials.Loads, unloads incoming and outbound trucks verifying quantities received/shipped.Verifies that the Bill of lading in both incoming/outbounds of material match to physical quantity.Delivers and distribute materials within the warehouse into specific locations, high knowledge of the type of materials is required.Assist in the delivery of finished goods from assembly to shipping dock or any area required.Pick, store, organize, and stage material according to standardized work.Performs weekly inventory physical count and reports.Keeps track of resin logs with physical quantities in silos reporting daily, if applicable will help to verify and reconcile any discrepancies.Carry out Standard Work Scheduled activities as defined by the Supervisor.Inspect, clean, fill, empty, tag, identify resin hopper feeding system.Ensures ALL plastic bags are wiped and cleaned prior to emptying into hoppers.Ensures the CORRECT resin is filled into each hopper and maintains hoppers always filled during the shift. Fills out and maintains resin traceability log sheet for quality.Operate label printer.Back up other team members, when necessary, regardless of department and as assigned by the Supervisor.Other duties as assigned.What you need to succeed:High school education or any equivalent combination of training and experience.Minimum of 2 years' experience handling materials.Forklift experience (Stand up/Sit down).Experience using wrapping machines and with basic hand tools required.Ability to conduct physical inventory/cycle counting.Knowledge of Safety,5S, LEAN /TPS Toyota Production System a plus.Ability to work in a team environment; overtime and/or weekends and to rotate jobs or shifts as needed.Basic working knowledge of computer software, email, excel, and internet.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.Knowledge of safety and quality practices and expectations.Ability to successfully pass written and driving forklift testing to become a certified forklift driver.Knowledge of FIFO and Kanban processes.Understanding standard work (SOP's).Understands and follows Company's quality and corporate/environmental policies.Understands and follows procedures and work instructions established by Smurfit Westrock Vitop.Basic computer skills (i.e., email, data entry) and administrative skills (i.e., filing, organization).Must be able to lift and stack objects up to 50 pounds occasionally and frequently exert 50 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, and pull or otherwise move objects.Work involves sitting, standing, and walking, climbing ladders, staircases, stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting/turning, and reaching, bending at the waist.Must be able to perceive the nature of sound, utilize near and far vision, depth perception, provide oral information, and possess the manual dexterity to handle and work with various materials and objects which are essential aspects of this position.The noise level in the work environment is dependent on area of the plant.Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (eye protection, ear protection, hand protection and safety shoes) is required for specific tasks and/or area of the plant worked in.What we offer:Corporate culture based on integrity, respect, accountability and excellenceComprehensive training with numerous learning and development opportunities.An attractive salary reflecting skills, competencies and potential.A career with a global packaging company where Sustainability, Safety and Inclusion are business drivers and foundational elements of the daily work.Uniforms, boots and tools provided.Candidates are required to undergo a drug screening after receiving a conditional job offer, but before starting employment.
