Paper Converting Machine Operator

About the Role We are seeking a skilled Paper Converting Machine Operator to join our production facility. In this role, you will play a critical part in our manufacturing workflow by transforming raw material rolls into high-quality, press-ready sheets, ensuring our production goals are met with precision and efficiency. Responsibilities Configure and calibrate industrial sheeting machinery, including slitters, anvils, and joggers, to meet exact project specifications. Execute the conversion of paper rolls into finished sheets while monitoring for quality, squareness, and size accuracy. Manage the flow of production by prioritizing tasks based on daily schedules and optimizing material usage. Perform routine preventative maintenance and mechanical adjustments to ensure equipment longevity and peak performance. Maintain precise digital records of inventory and production output using internal manufacturing software. Operate material handling equipment, including forklifts and clamp trucks, to safely transport and organize raw materials and finished goods. Uphold a high standard of workplace safety and organization by adhering to all established operational protocols. Required Skills Minimum of 3 years of experience operating industrial sheeting or paper converting equipment. Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve machine setup issues. Proficiency in operating powered industrial vehicles, including forklifts and clamp trucks. Strong mathematical skills, specifically regarding measurements, fractions, and decimals. Ability to interpret complex production orders and technical operating manuals. Experience with data entry in ERP or inventory management systems. Preferred Skills Prior experience in a high-volume commercial printing or packaging environment. Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement workflows. Advanced knowledge of paper grades and their specific handling requirements. Experience with specific manufacturing software such as Solar Soft.
