Maintenance Technician

Technician is responsible for completing required steps to ensure vacant units are restored to market ready status Performs various unskilled, semi-skilled and skilled tasks in the general maintenance, painting, wall preparation, repair and upkeep of buildings, equipment, facilities and grounds with responsibility for work performance in several trades. The work requires the use of hand, machine, and power tools and a variety of other mechanical equipment, as well as the exercise of technical independence in determining work methods and procedures. Replaces smoke detectors, electrical switches and outlets, outlet and switch covers, light fixtures, thermostats, and exhaust fans. Troubleshoot electrical systems, diagnose electrical shorts, detect and repair faulty electronic systems. Unstop sewers and drains. Perform rough and finished carpentry. Install a variety of hardware and fixtures. Able to effectively and professionally communicate both orally and in writing, including over the phone. Able to meet physical requirements of the position, such as climbing stairs and ladders; walking, kneeling, standing, squatting, twisting and bending for long periods of time. Able to execute job duties under stressful circumstances such as last minute deadlines or other difficult situations. A valid drivers' license and reliable transportation will be required.
