Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Technician

Overview We are seeking a skilled Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC systems, mechanical knowledge, and field service experience. This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC equipment across various commercial and residential properties. Candidates should possess a comprehensive understanding of schematics, HVAC design, plumbing, refrigeration, and equipment repair. A valid driver’s license is required for travel between job sites. This position offers opportunities for professional growth within the property maintenance and mechanical service fields. Responsibilities Install, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration systems, and ventilation equipment. Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and HVAC design plans to accurately perform installations and repairs. Conduct routine maintenance on HVAC equipment to ensure optimal operation and energy efficiency. Diagnose mechanical issues using tools such as ohmmeters and other diagnostic devices; perform electrical testing as needed. Repair or replace plumbing components related to HVAC systems; handle ammonia refrigeration units when applicable. Perform welding and other mechanical repairs on equipment as required. Maintain detailed service records and documentation of work performed. Ensure all work complies with safety standards and building codes; adhere to property maintenance protocols. Assist with equipment repair projects involving refrigeration, appliance repair, or boiler systems when necessary. Operate company vehicles safely in compliance with all traffic laws; maintain a valid driver’s license. Qualifications Proven experience as a service technician in HVAC or related fields such as construction, appliance repair, or property maintenance. Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in HVAC/R systems, refrigeration (including ammonia refrigeration), plumbing, and boiler operation. Ability to read schematics and HVAC design plans accurately. Familiarity with electrical testing tools such as ohmmeters; capable of troubleshooting electrical components within HVAC systems. Skilled in equipment repair techniques including welding and general mechanical repairs. Prior field service experience preferred; ability to work independently in diverse environments. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required. Additional skills such as welding, boiler operation, or mechanic experience are advantageous.
