Certified Veterinary Technician

*Overview* We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Veterinary Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to animals in a clinical setting. You will work closely with veterinarians and other staff members to ensure the health and well-being of our patients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in veterinary practices and a passion for animal care. *Duties* -Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures - Perform diagnostic tests, including X-rays and laboratory work - Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed - Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient - Provide support in surgical procedures - Handle animals safely and compassionately during examinations, treatments, and boarding - Educate pet owners on proper animal care - Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including kennels and treatment areas *Experience* - Previous experience as a Certified Veterinary Technician or in a similar role is preferred - Knowledge of veterinary terminology, diseases, vaccinations etc. - Safe animal handling skills while keeping safety and comfort in mind for both the animals and staff - Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Job Type: Full-time Pay: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week Benefits: Employee discount Flexible schedule Health insurance Paid time off Professional development assistance Schedule: 8 hour shift Day shift Experience: Veterinary experience: 1 year (Preferred) Ability to Commute: San Benito, TX 78586 (Required) Ability to Relocate: San Benito, TX 78586: Relocate before starting work (Required) Work Location: In person
