Embedded Capabilities Developer
Columbia, MD | Full Time | TS/SCI with Polygraph Required
Position: Embedded Capabilities Developer (Application Developer, Level 2)
Location: Columbia, MD (on-site)

Clearance Requirement: Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
Compensation: $160,000 – $200,000 (annualized USD)
Experience Requirement:
6+ years with a Bachelor's degree, OR
4+ years with a Master's degree, OR
4 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
Description
You will act as a general-purpose software engineer embedded in operations for up-and-coming projects. You'll be responsible for the full product lifecycle — design, prototype, development, release, deployment, and maintenance of all tools developed by the team.
In addition, you'll modify other teams' tools and integrate products developed by other teams into the toolkit for high-impact results. You'll work closely with analysts, operators, and other software engineers to define new requirements and provide tactical support to operations — including quick-reaction operational support alongside the longer development lifecycle of more feature-rich capabilities.
Responsibilities
Augment existing tools.
Derive, document, and analyze requirements.
Build prototypes to demonstrate understanding of project requirements.
Produce end-to-end toolsets that can operate within operational constraints.
Provide technical consulting support across various software products and technologies, advising customers on direction.
Take part in peer code reviews.
Skills Requirements
Produce and modify software systems in C/C++/Python, with explicit experience in network programming.
Provide support for fielded software systems.
Ability to coordinate and communicate with users of differing technical knowledge — including operators, analysts, and other developers — to deliver finished products to the customer.
Reverse engineering experience.
Familiarity with Git and Subversion.
Atlassian Tools (Confluence, Jira, Bamboo).
Nice to Haves
Experience with any of the following languages: Java, JavaScript, Bash, PowerShell, Perl, C#, Rust.
Experience developing software in Linux, Windows, and embedded environments.
Experience with Vulnerability Research and Exploit Development.
Experience with malware reverse engineering.
Solid understanding of cryptography.
Prior experience in cyber operations or capability development.
Compensation & Employment Policy
Salary is determined by multiple factors, including location, education, experience, skills, and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $160,000 – $200,000 (annualized USD).
