Job Description:The Process Engineer is responsible for implementing processes to improve the efficiency of Cambria’s production operations. He/she will also monitor, troubleshoot and improve existing processes and systems that affect line output. This position will implement mechanical and procedural initiatives to maintain the Cambria manufacturing process. Cambria’s operations require a high level of analytical thinking, interpersonal communication and problem solving abilities. Process Engineers will be required to work with a variety of skill sets and should be able to adapt to different working environments. This essential role plays a large part in the productivity of several departments and is a vital contributor to the overall success of the production and efficiency of the plant.Position Specific Responsibilities:Assist R&D with new product developmentCommercialize, identify and design new production technologiesCo-own the maintenance of design recipesTrack, identify and implement solutions for process efficiencyImplement ergonomic and safety improvements throughout various teamsMaximize Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)Collaborate with and mentor Process Control Technicians and Process Control Engineers, with continuous improvement initiativesMinimum Qualifications:Ability to read, and write English to effectively communicate with teamIntermediate computer skills (Microsoft Suite)Detail orientedData driven and analyticalAbility to create simple solutions to complex problemsEducation: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or other related field or disciplineExperience: N/APreferred Qualifications:3+ years manufacturing experienceUnderstand and utilize statistics and control charts Critical thinking and troubleshooting skillsMechanically inclinedManagerial Responsibilities: N/ATravel Requirements: N/AEssential Duties & Responsibilities:Identify bottlenecks in the process and develop solutions to improve its performancePerform downtime analysis and work with necessary departments to develop and implement solutions to minimize equipment downtimeMonitor and improve slab qualityTrack OEE and address underperforming segments of metricMaintain a priority for safety and engage in initiatives within area of ownershipWork in a multi directional environment with responsibilities in both process and production lineCollaborate with and mentor Process Control Technicians and Process Control Engineers, with continuous improvement initiativesPartner with Project Engineering in designing, commissioning, and optimizing new equipmentMaintain a strong understanding of the mechanical processes of each machinePerform process control checks and actively communicate the resultsCoordinate trials by developing testing protocols, adapting protocols, or managing dataStay engaged with production scheduling to coordinate improvementsAssist Process Control Technician in troubleshootingPerform job duties safely as outlined in the Process Technology Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)Additional duties as assigned by management Physical Requirements:Lift up to 50 lbs. Push/pull 100 lbs. Stand on feet for long periods of time. Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided by CambriaOccasionally work in wet and/or humid conditionsWork in a non-climate controlled environmentSeparate slabs using a separator tool in both racks and A-framesClimb in and out of a forklift multiple times throughout dayWalk up and down steps multiple times throughout dayBend over multiple times throughout dayTask Based Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:Steel toed bootsHearing ProtectionSafety glassesCut-proof glovesFace shieldRespirator (employees who are required to wear a respirator must maintain a clean-shaven face in the area where the respirator seals to the skin). Cambria’s starting salary range for this position is $61,000-$78,000. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the target for new hires for the position.
