Research AssociateAgriscience is looking for a responsible and highly motivated Research Associate to join Transgene expression engineering team. Research associate position with this group is responsible in performing basic molecular biology techniques for expression element discovery, plant sample collection and submition to protein core technologies for expression analysis, data management and providing timely and quality results to SRA's and scientists within the team.Responsibilities:Designing and planning experiments with timelinesEnsure that all experiments are planned on time, and in a safe mannerPerform vector construction and Agrobacterium transformation with QCPerform transient assays developed by the Transgene expression engineering teamPhenotyping of transgenic plants and transgene expression analysisData analysis and reportingContinually look for process improvement opportunities and help the team to implement solutionsTroubleshooting of processes as neededMake detailed observations, analyze data and interpret resultsCollaborate with colleagues in controlled environment for plant sample collectionPromotion of a safe working environmentPerform routine lab support tasks like plasmid isolation, agrobacterium transformation and other molecular biology techniques developed by SRA's in the teamRequirements:Bachelor's degree in Molecular biology, crop sciences, biochemistry or or related science fields with 1-3 years of working experience or equivalent amounts of relevant education and experience.Strong computer skills and experience with data analysisPrior experience working in a research laboratory and field is requiredExperience with problem identification, problem solving and process improvementAbility to work independently and in a team environmentAttention to detail and ability to stay focused while performing repetitive tasksSelf-motivated, goal-oriented, and committed to personal/technical growthAbility to prioritize and manage multiple projects/ experimentsUnderstanding principles of experiment design, and statistical data analyses is desired.Excellent organizational skills and record keeping abilityEEO "Mindlance is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate in employment on the basis of – Minority/Gender/Disability/Religion/LGBTQI/Age/Veterans."
