This position requires detailed knowledge of all aspects of patient services, including patient appointments, registration protocols, billing practices, telephone practices, scheduling guidelines and back-up to the front desk when needed. The position requires the ability to plan, schedule, organize and respond appropriately to a wide variety of subjects and situations. Job Objectives:Greet and check-in patients upon arrival in a courteous and professional mannerProperly input all required patient information into the system including patient history in complete sentences, performing providers, and any additional information to the radiology technologist Directs patient regarding changing protocolsPrepare procedure rooms and assist in procedures as needed in compliance with RIS safety protocolsProperly identifies patients and demonstrates compassion while maintaining patient confidentiality, explain exam to patients to ensure patient safety and cooperationAssists the technologist with patient position as appropriateComforts patients; anticipating patient needs, anxieties and questionsStock exam rooms with necessary supplies, maintain equipment and reports any equipment malfunction to the supervisor or appropriate service providerCheck schedules on a daily basisEducation and Experience:High school graduate or equivalent required, college degree preferred Medical Assistant certification requiredCustomer Service Experience PreferredSkills & Qualifications:Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication and interpersonal skills are requiredHigh levels of compassion, intelligence, and cultural sensitivity are requiredSkills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff and patients and the ability to work independentlyThorough knowledge of administrative practices and proceduresPhysical RequirementsAbility to sit for prolonged periodsNormal hand eye coordination and manual dexterityAbility to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to distinguish letters and symbolsAbility to respond quickly to soundsClarity of vision at close distances (20 inches or less) and far distances (20ft or more)Ability to work independently
