Cloud Networking EngineerPhoenix, AZ – Hybrid - 2 days a week (Mon/Thurs). Local consultant onlyUSC OnlyThey want an Azure & AWS Cloud Network Engineer Cloud Network:Priority is on Azure support but will be a mixture of Azure & AWS support. This will be a collaboration between the applications team and the networking team.Responsible for cloud set upResponsible for migration- taking an active application and moving it to the cloud; will need to redevelop the application in the cloud; write to make it cloud ready.Take how it works today- the data flows, firewall rule, etc. & adapt it to the cloud & mold the new technology.You will grow in this role & take on additional responsibilities.Network Engineer:Designing and implementing functional network infrastructure in the cloudResolving issues that tiers of support have escalatedMentoring team members and addressing user needs Responsibilities:Design and deploy functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN)Configure and install software, servers, routers, and other network devicesMonitor network performance and integrityResolve issues tiers of support have escalated by troubleshooting cloud and local infrastructureAutomate tasks and monitor their effectivenessMentor team members on technical issuesCreate, oversee, and test security measures (e.g. access authentication and disaster recovery)Communicate with users when neededMaintain complete technical documentationSuggest improvements to network performance, capacity, and scalabilityAll other duties as assigned Requirements:Industry-related experience as a Senior Network Engineer or Network AdministratorExtensive experience in cloud network engineering (Azure, AWS)Oracle Cloud Infrastructure networking experience (nice to have)Solid background in network administration and architectureExperience creating/implementing/troubleshooting cloud networks/infrastructureExperience setup cloud environments for applications and web services to function Experience building and baselining infrastructure specific objects in cloud environments to build consistent cloud tenants using best practice techniques for multiple cloud providers (Azure and AWS)In-depth understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF)Familiarity with access control models and network securitySolarWinds Rollout, Set-up, Training & AdministrationExperience with network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools (e.g., SolarWinds network tools)Basic understanding of network operating systems (JUNOS, Cisco IOS)Understanding of IPSEC and other types of VPN and how that transfers into Azure/cloudExperience with Fortinet and Cisco ASAExperience with Palo AltoAzure Virtual WAN with Palo Alto (Prisma Cloud) ExperienceDesign and deploy functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN)SD-WAN and Virtual WAN experienceUnderstanding of routers, switches, and firewalls. Basic Linux OS experienceSolid troubleshooting skillsAbility to work independently with strong organizational and mentoring skillsStrong customer service skills and attention to detailAbility to partner and influence peers and customers.Project Management skills -not looking for just a solution focused approach; will need timelines & cost estimation.Training delivery/presentation skills- responsible for rolling out the information to the team by providing a team “walk-through”Ability to work after hours to support projects and maintenance activities.Potential travel to support field office projectsSolarWinds: Network Visibility- NICE TO HAVE SKILLS (NOT REQUIRED)The 1st part of your project will be setting up the Networks SolarWinds. This will be a collaborative roll-out between the Server team, Network team, cloud & business development.Set up SolarWinds on network devices- install, manage, create alerts, create maps & provide end user support.You will need to be able to visualize the network, identify the areas where information is needed and set up alerts.You will be responsible for putting the SolarWinds plan together and then implementing it.You will need to put together the overall concept of the Network & how to represent it.You will need to plan target dates for the implementation.You will need to give realistic timelines for the project. (don’t say 3 days if you will really need 2 weeks)Any prior Project Management skills would be beneficial; we are not looking for just a solution focused approach; will need timelines & cost estimation.Finally, you will be responsible for rolling out the information to the team by providing a team “walk-through”Currently the sister organization is ahead of schedule with their deployment of SolarWinds and it is putting pressure on us to get up to speed on our end but just haven’t had the time.By running this project, you will essentially become the SME for SolarWinds for our team & will have the added benefit of learning out network quickly due to this project.
