Design Engineer

The ideal candidate will be responsible for executing and leading the full design process from ideation to production. You will draw new designs and update our current designs. During the creation process, you will ensure that our designs meeting all necessary design responsibilities. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Design and develop new products to bring to marketCreate 3D model contentProduce and maintain production drawingsAssist with creation of operations manualsSet up part numbers, bill of material and shop floor routers as requiredImplement and review procedures and equipment involved in the manufacturing processProvide management with data and statistics to enable management to understand future requirements needed for the manufacturing processEvaluate quality control processes and make recommendations for improvements in quality controlMeet or exceed department productivity goals as set by managementMaintain professional and technical knowledge required to perform all job functionsMaintain safe and clean work environment Maintain compliance with established policies and procedures by educating and directing employees on the use of equipment and resourcesCommunicate with other employees and departments about work related processesUpdate information in Global Shop as necessaryPerform additional related duties as requiredEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:Mechanical Engineering or Design degree (AS/BS) preferredPrevious experience in a Product Design role a plusExperience prioritizing workload Solidworks/AutoCAD experiencePHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:Ability to lift 50 lbs. occasionallyAbility to work in a manufacturing environmentConstant standing and walkingFrequent bending and stoopingClean work environmentSafety training and other required PPE providedMust submit to pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check
