P&ID Designer / Design Area Lead (SmartPlant P&ID)Employment Type: Full‑Time Location: Flexible / Project‑Based (depending on assignment)About the RoleWe are seeking a P&ID Designer / Design Area Lead with strong experience in SmartPlant P&ID (SPID) to support moderate to complex industrial projects. This role provides hands‑on technical expertise in P&ID design and layout while supporting project teams through high‑quality, standards‑driven execution.The position may also serve as a Design Area Lead on assigned projects, reviewing work by other designers and ensuring consistency, quality, and compliance with project and industry standards.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform SmartPlant P&ID (SPID) design and layout for moderate to complex project scopesApply project drawing standards to develop accurate P&IDs and associated design documentationPrepare 2D CAD drawings of moderate to advanced complexityDevelop layouts and schematics for both conceptual and detailed design phasesReview and check work completed by other DesignersEnsure designs comply with industry codes, standards, and project requirementsIncorporate Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) considerations into all design workExecute work in accordance with approved project plans and proceduresInterface closely with other engineering disciplines to support integrated project deliveryPromote collaboration and consistent design practices across project teamsContribute to knowledge‑sharing initiatives and design best practicesPlan, organize, and complete assigned tasks with attention to quality, schedule, and detailQualificationsEducation & ExperienceAccredited two‑year technical degree (or equivalent) ORA combination of education and directly related experience totaling 10 yearsTechnical & Professional SkillsStrong working knowledge of SmartPlant P&ID (SPID)Experience with AutoCAD, BricsCAD, and BluebeamFamiliarity with other Hexagon tools is a plusIntermediate computer skills, including:Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPointAbility to understand and apply local, state/provincial, and national codes and standardsStrong attention to detail with efficient, time‑conscious work habitsEffective communication skills for collaboration with project teams and leadershipWhy This OpportunityWork on technically challenging industrial projectsOpportunity to serve as a Design Area Lead on assigned workCollaborative, team‑oriented engineering environmentLong‑term career growth within project design and executionExposure to industry‑standard design tools and systems
