Position Type:Student Support Services/Guidance CounselorDate Posted:1/21/2026Location:Rafting Creek ElementaryQUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of a Master's degree and valid South Carolina educator certification in Elementary School Counseling.Location: Rafting Creek Elementary School .6 and .4 at Millwood ElementaryGrade Span: School Counselor will work with Pre-K - 5 grade students.Reporting: Building PrincipalPERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Works with students individually, in small groups, and in the classroom.Guides in the decision making processes concerning academics and personal/social development.Helps students evaluate their interests, aptitudes, abilities, and personal characteristics for educational planning.Consults with outside resources/agencies to maximize and coordinate the use of available services.Consults with parents regarding their children, school related issues, and meetings for special purposes.Assists students in developing self-confidence and a positive self-concept.Assists students in strengthening interpersonal skills.Attends staff, professional and inter-agency meetings.Confers with teachers and parents whenever necessary.Participates in regular staff meetings and ongoing trainings.TERMS: 195 Days.Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluationThis job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by this employee.
