Helper Pipeyard

This position is primarily responsible for assisting the forklift operator with loading/unloading product onto or from trucks and moving pipe within the yard.ResponsibilitiesAbility to follow both verbal and hand signal instructions to identify pipe to be movedVerifies heat numbers, quantity, and complete chocking of pipe Installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transitPainting, stenciling, sandblasting, coating pipesObserve all safety precautions and wear appropriate PPE at all timesCross-train on alternate assignments and perform duties in other work areas as neededMaintain Housekeeping in assigned work areaAny other duties as requested by respective supervisor and/or managerQualificationsAbility to work flexible and/or extended hours and weekends (normal schedule: 50 hrs)Ability to pass a background check and drug screenStable work history, preferably in an industrial environmentReliable transportationCommitted to working safely at all times including a commitment to the policies and procedures of the operationPositive attitude; good team playerPhysical RequirementsMust be able to lift and stack objects up to 50 lbs. occasionally and frequently exert 10 to 20 lbs. of force to lift, carry, push, and pull or otherwise move objectsWork involves long periods of standing, walking, kneeling, and reaching; may also include climbing ladders and staircasesMust be able to work in extreme weather conditions – heat, cold, rain
