Apply now.Essential FunctionsThis position reports to the Materials Manager Production Control SupervisorDevelop and maintain relationships with transportation providersSupports the successful use of systems intended to support the operational, efficient and timely transportation services, including Transportation Management SystemEfficiently utilizes TMS capabilities such as MOJO and shipment process executionProvide operational leadership for the business’s distribution operations to meet/exceed the business’s demanding customer fulfillment requirements and cost objectivesAccountable for efficient management of shipments, and paperwork associated with the movement, loading, and deliveries for all of Elkhart OperationsAdhere to and follow established transportation policies, procedures, and objectivesDevelop, maintain and analyze data related to matrix level of KPI’s to ensure sufficient team and carrier performance (SMQDC & Performance Boards)Assist with investigations to verify and resolve customer or shipper complaintsManage the overall employee performance while ensuring a safe work area, appropriate staffing levels, corrective action records, performance management process and succession planningMaintain compliance with all regulatory requirements and ethical standardsOther Important Details About The RoleBe available to accept a variety of duties, as time permits, ranging from special projects as directedCoordination of domestic orders with shipping, marketing, and carriers for a timely delivery and to be cost effectiveCoordination of customer service activities necessary to communicate the shipping schedule with customersAssist with daily communication with customer service, sites and others, coordinating delivery appointments with carriers, to meet company deadlinesAssist with the coordination of all truckload shipments from the Brenham Operations location & finishing service providersRequired Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities): Bachelors with five (5) + years relevant experience or Associates Degree with seven (7)+ years relevant experience or nine (9) + years of relevant experience.Five years of experience in a manufacturing/distribution setting in Logistics, Supply Chain, Sales, or Customer ServiceSupervisory or Management experience preferredProduction control/supply chain management experience in manufacturing environmentStrong working knowledge of TMS and MRP/ERP SystemsStrong understanding of local, state, and federal transportation regulationsAdvanced problem solving skills, with attention to detailStrong leadership skillsChange management experience with the ability to drive focus, urgency, and accountabilityDetail oriented with the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment with a focus on accuracy, follow through, and communicationAbility to coordinate logistics moves in a cost-effective and time critical manner utilizing technology availableAbility to analyze data in order to drive efficient operational impactsExcellent planning and organizational skills exhibited under tight deadlines with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyStrong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Outlook.Positive, professional demeanor in all interaction with colleagues, carriers, customers and vendorsKnowledge and experience necessary to assist with all operational aspects of logistics processExcellent oral and written communication and presentation skillsAbility to work with people in a professional and respectful manner to address issues in a constructive wayHighly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Logistics/Supply Chain managementTMS Software experienceWorking Environment And Physical EffortsWork is typically performed in an office setting. The incumbent is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time, as well as talk and listen on the phone and in personal conversations or meetings. Environment is fast paced and demanding most of the time. Incumbent may be asked to visit and work in manufacturing and shipping environments. When in these areas, incumbent will be required to wear any necessary PPE as required by site policy. Travel may be required up to 15% (domestic). The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms while working in the office with various files and forms and while working on the computer. The employee is occasionally required to move about the office. Incumbent must utilize proper ergonomic safeguards such as monitor height and positions, keyboard location and height and proper wrists rests. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds in working with large files, binders, and computer equipment.
