Project Engineer APTIM is pleased to announce an immediate opening for a Project Engineer in our Solid Waste Engineering Group to support our exciting portfolio of projects. This opening is remote or in our California (Concord). Our Solid Waste Engineering Group provides the following services to both the public and private sectors:Facility design and permittingStormwater modeling and management plan developmentConstruction oversightOperations and maintenanceHydrogeologic and geotechnical investigationsEnvironmental compliance auditsOur philosophy centers on developing and maintaining a culture of mutual respect and honesty, where people listen generously and speak straight. At APTIM, you can expect countless opportunities to learn, develop business and leadership skills, and engage on a multitude of projects.Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:Conduct field inspections and construction quality assurance (CQA) oversightPreparing site plans, grading and drainage plans, pump and piping plans, and conceptual layouts for civil earthworks, landfill grading and construction projectsPreparing engineering calculations and supporting analysesPerform groundwater, leachate, stormwater and landfill gas sampling and testingPreparing and completing regulatory compliance reports, work plans, and special studiesUtilizing skills and knowledge to solve complex problemsCollaborating with other team membersCoordinating with contractors and clientsPhysical work the ability to lift 50 pounds will be requiredPossess a "Safety First" work ethicProviding other duties as requiredBasic Qualifications:BS/MS Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent sciences.Possession Engineer in Training (EIT) certificationMinimum of 6 yearsAbility to work on multidisciplinary projectsExcellent oral and written communication skillsAbility to work in a team environmentSelf-starter and problem solverExcellent organizational skillsAbility to wear proper PPE for work on hazardous waste sitesDesired Qualification:Professional Engineer (PE) LicenseLandfill / Solid Waste experiencePossession of 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training with current 8-hour refresher certificateKnowledge of AutoCAD, HEC-RAS, and ArcGIS softwareKnowledge of landfill operations and solid waste projectsKnowledge of federal and state environmental regulationsAbout APTIMAPTIM enhances the quality of the environment, wellbeing of people, resilience of communities, and opportunity for employees to make a difference, not just a living.
