Job DescriptionUW Medicine Northwest Surgical Specialties and Hernia Center - has an outstanding opportunity for a Patient Services Specialist Supervisor.Work Schedule100% FTE - 40 hours per weekDay shiftMondays - Fridays 7:30am- 4:00pmPrimary Job ResponsibilitiesAssist managers and physicians to develop and implement patient care systemsIdentify and plan for staffing needs and proactively takes appropriate actionPrepare employee schedules and assign work to staff; evaluate daily workload, workflow, and adjust staff assignments accordinglyEffectively delegate, manage change, set expectations and goals, make decisions, solve problems, and model fairness and respectBuild relationships and fosters teamwork and collaboration to accomplish organization’s goalsIdentify quality benchmarks, assess departmental performance and design improvement plansDevelop goals and objectives and maintains policies and proceduresDevelop budget and monitor/control expenses to fit budget expectationsImprove department cost efficiency and productivityFacilitate open communications and joint decision making with staffInterview and select staff, hires, and promotionsEvaluate staff performance and competency; coach/discipline/discharge to improve individual and departmental performanceCollaborate with management to develop departmental budget, monitors data to evaluate department productivity, maintains a cost-effective departmentRequirementsA Bachelor’s Degree in a medically related or public relations fieldAND one year experience in a healthcare setting which includes lead responsibility or Equivalent education/experience.
