Job Description
SUMMARY:The Inventory Associate is responsible for overseeing daily inventory operations within the retail storefront. Key responsibilities include ensuring accuracy in inventory counts and shipments, as well as verifying and receiving product shipments. The role involves organizing products in storage and on the sales floor, ensuring compliance with California's Track and Trace system (METRC) and the Point of Sale (POS) system. The associate will also ensure that all products are correctly labeled and meet regulatory requirements prior to their transition to the sales floor.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES (the list is not all inclusive)Responsible for barcoding all new inventory in Point-of-Sale system.Audits the physical inventory to ensure that the physical inventory aligns precisely with the virtual inventory numbersPerforms daily/weekly cycle counts and inventory evaluation and verification procedures.Provides timely notice to management if discrepancies are found, so that they may be fully investigated.Research inventory variances and adjustments.Maintains an accurate account f non-stock and unavailable inventory.Implements and follows cannabis waste procedures and schedules.Creates a calendar of all upcoming expired products.Assist with budtending as directed by manager.Provides excellent customer experience.Accurately log customer in computer systems.Accurate records customer transactions in POS systemEnsures that all phases of the customer experience remain seamless and exceed their expectations.Other duties as assignedCORE COMPETENCIESAligns and complies with company policies, procedures, and values.Understands and adheres to all city and state cannabis regulations.Maintains professionalism in appearance, approach, and communication.Must be able to adapt to a changing work environment.Ability to work effectively with colleagues and other departments.Willingness to assist and support team members to achieve common goals.Ability to identify customer needs to match them with suitable products.Ability to use inventory management software and other retail tools.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.Ability to provide a welcoming environment for all customers.Must be motivated, hardworking, and passionate about cannabis. Including the capacity to support other departments, ensuring seamless collaboration and responsiveness to organizational needs.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONSConstantly: Walking, standing, grasping/gripping, bending/stooping/squatting, finger dexterity, POS input, coordination of hand and eye.Frequently: Face contact with customers and staffOccasionally: Reaching above shoulder height, lifting 50 lbs., ability to do push/pull motions, with accommodations upon request.Will require working varied hours/day, including nights weekends, holidays, and/or events on occasionOccasionally: Overnight shifts between the hours of 9pm-5aEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREDHigh school diploma or GEDPrior retail or customer service experience (1-3 years)Inventory experience in a retail environmentStrong Math skills.METRC or similar cannabis seed-to-sale tracking software experienceKnowledgeable in Microsoft Word, with advanced knowledge in ExcelMust be 21+ years old and pass a criminal background check requirement
