Controls Software Designer - Direct Hire

Responsibilities for Controls Software Designer needed (Direct Hire)• Creating and commissioning industrial controls systems, PLC softwaredesign, and HMI screens• Responsible for PLC/HMI code development, code installation, debug on jobsite, and commissioning of the complete system• Responsible for controls systems design, programming, testing, andtroubleshooting.• Will work with cross functional teams to solve equipment and customerissues.• Debug and commission 840D controls system in motion control application.• Cell debug on shop floor and during install full time at customer location.• Must be willing to travel.• Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally.Skills/Experience Required:• XXXX+ years of Controls Engineering/PLC/HMI programming experience• The ability to program/write code/ladder logic from scratch• Prior experience with automotive manufacturing integration andcommissioning.• Prior experience programming within customer-defined standards andtemplates• Proficient with a variety of field bus networks including but not limited toEthernet I/P, Profibus, ProfiNet, etc. a plus.Core Business• General Motors (Michigan 2024 and Ohio 2025)o Global Common Controlso Non-Global Common Controls (Siemens)Qualifications for Controls TechnicianSpecific platforms• Siemens Step 7• Siemens 840D Motion control (non-CNC applications)• Siemens TIA Portal• Siemens Sinumerik One• Fanuc RoboticsOther platforms• Rockwell/Allen Bradley• Robotics: Kuka, AbbGeneral• Engineering Degree not required.• Driver's license and reliable transportation• Ability to effectively manage time.• Ability to work flexible hours and work around a changing schedule.• Excellent communication, interpersonal and diagnostic skills• Ability to work independently without much supervision.• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job.
