Sales Manager
The Sales Manager is responsible for all activities of the Polymet Sales Department, including the job functions described below:
Supervisory Responsibilities: All Sales and Customer Service Personnel
Essential Duties, Responsibilities, & Authorities
Lead, supervise, and direct Polymet sales team.
o Build, develop, and influence sales team capable of carrying out needed sales and service initiatives.
o Direct personnel in proper handling of Polymet customers.
o Establish goals with Sales team on a regular basis.
Maximize sales by understanding markets, customers, and products that are critical to the success of Polymet.
Develop sales plan to support overall organization strategy and objectives to include both revenue and profit growth.
Maintain and enhance relationships at key accounts.
Understand market trends, threat, and opportunities within applicable industries.
Oversee pricing policies and guidelines, including price list, distributor discount schedules, special high-volume pricing, and surcharge policy.
Develop revenue forecast for annual budget planning.
o Set annual goals for Sales staff.
Manage representatives & distributors.
o Review performance and adjust as necessary.
o Review opportunities for new reps and distributors for new markets or regions.
Direct advertising and trade show efforts.
Ensure Customer Satisfaction.
o Set customer satisfaction goals and measure performance.
o Develop a plan to meet customer satisfaction goals.
Monitor work performance of direct reports to ensure all are meeting job expectations and provide timely feedback on employee performance and conduct.
Follow all requirements of the Polymet employee handbook and safety policies.
Understand and follow all Polymet Quality Management System (QMS) documents required.
Qualifications and Requirements
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualifications and requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability necessary to do so.
Qualification/Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or engineering from an accredited university
· 7-10 years sales experience
· 2-5 years management experience
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, MRP/ERP Systems, CRM software
· Ability to travel both domestically and internationally up to 35%
· Proven record of customer focus
· Strong communication skills with the ability to work with all levels of the organization and customers
· Ability to work in a self-directed environment
· Fully Executed Confidentiality Agreement
Desired Characteristics:
· Master’s degree in business or engineering
· 5+ years management experience
· Experience in the metals, welding, or thermal spray industries
· Expertise in budgeting and strategic planning
· Strong ability to analyze data/information, formulate accurate conclusions and develop action plans
· Knowledge of the aerospace and defense industries
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $120,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
