This team writes the software behind those handoffs, and AI is built into every step of how they code.About the WorkThe engineering group is rebuilding a worldwide shipping and e-commerce platform that links hundreds of carriers across time zones. Two major efforts are underway: modernizing the ERP system at the core of the business, and launching a Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) product that gives companies one integration layer to reach carriers around the globe.The team needs a mid-level Java developer whose daily coding has been reshaped by AI tools, and who wants to bring that approach to a group building at worldwide scale.What You'll Work OnShip and support features on a worldwide shipping and e-commerce platform, splitting time between new builds and modernizing legacy codeDesign and connect REST and event-driven APIs that link carriers, merchants, and internal systemsHelp build the PaaS integration layer that lets carriers anywhere plug into a single, unified APIUse AI tools such as Claude and Copilot as core parts of your workflow: generating code, writing tests, drafting documentation, and preparing for code reviewsWeigh in on design decisions with senior engineers and architects through architecture reviews and pull request feedbackPartner with Business Analysts to turn requirements into clean Java code backed by solid testsTake a turn in the on-call rotation, help respond to incidents, and contribute to post-mortemsWhat You'll Need3 to 5 years of hands-on Java experience (Java 17 or later preferred)Working fluency with the Spring Framework: Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Spring DataA track record of building and consuming REST APIs that run in productionProven AI-first habits: you can explain specific ways AI tools have changed how you work, beyond simply using themComfort working in a distributed microservices environmentA solid grounding in data structures, design patterns, debugging, and writing maintainable codeNice to HaveLogistics or supply chain backgroundExposure to ERP systemsAWS experienceHow This Team Defines AI-FirstThis goes well beyond accepting the occasional Copilot suggestion.
