Shrink Conversion Worker-1st ShiftAmerican Fuji Seal NC - Newton, NC 28658Salary Range $22.00 - $24.00 Hourly Level Entry Position Type Full TimeBasic ResponsibilitiesSafe and efficient operation of production machinery including Seamers, Slitters, Rewinders, and Core Cutters.Specific ResponsibilitiesPrepares production supplies including boxes and cores.Conducts daily inspection and preventative maintenance of machinery.Conducts general set up of production machinery.Installs plates, rollers, guides, blades, and related equipment on machinery.Reads job specification sheet to determine job requirements.Enters tolerances and parameters into machine computer.Loads, centers, and webs product into proper machine.Maintains proper speeds and settings of machinery throughout shift.Routinely checks product samples against job specifications.Conducts Quality procedures including inspection of finished goods for quality defects.Completes required paperwork for each job.Packs finished product for shipment to customer.Cleans up machine and work area.Meets production and quality goals.Assists in training of new employees.Assists with other tasks as needed.Complies with all Plant Rules.All other appropriate duties as assigned by the management team and permitted by the existing union contract language.Reports to: Conversion Department SupervisorQualificationsCompetencies:Mechanical Aptitude: Ability to learn and understand machine operations and the use of the proper tools for the jobAttention to Detail: Ability to focus while maintaining important detailsCritical Thinking: The ability to quickly identify a problem and find a solutionComputer Competence: Knowledge of basic computer skillsSelf-Reliance: Must be able to work independentlyInnovation: Must demonstrate an open and growth mindset, embracing change, stepping out of comfort zone, and applies creativity in generating ideas and solutionsFlexibility: Willingness to cross-train on different jobs and machines in conversion and other departmentsSafety: Compliance with all safety regulationsCleanliness: Comply with 6s by maintaining a clean and organized work areaDependability: Regular reliable attendance and demonstrates strong work ethicEducation and Experience:High School Diploma/GED1-3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment preferred but not requiredBasic math and measurement skillsPhysical Demands:Ability to stand for extended periodsAble to move and lift to 50 lbs.Able to reach and bend
