Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A full-time Teacher for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students is needed in the Virginia Beach area, supporting an elementary school setting. This contract position runs through the current school year, from ASAP to mid-June 2026. The role involves working with a small caseload of eight students, all located within the district center, serving kindergarten through fifth grade. Key Responsibilities: Deliver specialized instruction and support tailored for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students. Collaborate with district staff and families to implement individualized education programs. Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly. Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities. Qualifications and Experience: Active Virginia Department of Education certification for teaching Deaf/Hard of Hearing students is required. Experience working with K-5 students is preferred. Familiarity with standard Virginia credentialing requirements. Ability to manage a small caseload effectively and work full-time (35 hours per week). Location: The assignment is based in the Virginia Beach area, within the district center. Additional Details: This contract role does not offer hybrid or remote work options; on-site presence is mandatory. Candidates will undergo prescreen interviews to assess suitability.
