Yes, you can build an exciting business AND have real-life real-customer impact.About The RoleKikoff’s Director of Tax & Treasury is a newly created role that will lead the company’s global corporate tax and treasury efforts. The position will be responsible for overseeing Kikoff’s tax compliance, planning, structuring and reporting. It will collaborate with stakeholders, both internal and external, to ensure the financial health of Kikoff through accurate and timely tax filings, advising on business decisions, and maintaining compliance with federal, state, and international laws and regulations. A smaller portion of the responsibilities are treasury related, and include owning treasury operations, monitoring day cash flows between our customers, partners and banks, and also partnering with our external cash management banks. In this critical position, you will join a late-stage, pre-IPO FinTech company with a fast-paced, high-growth environment while working cross-functionally with our accounting, finance, legal, compliance, operations, marketing and product and engineering teams.The position will initially be an individual contributor role reporting into our Corporate Controller, but will have the ability to add to the team as needed. The role will be located in our San Francisco office (in office 3 days/week).The RoleServe as a key advisor to the CFO and Corporate Controller, and build Kikoff’s global Tax functionWork closely with external tax advisors and oversee federal, state and international tax reporting and compliance, including driving tax planning, structuring, tax accounting, reporting and compliance activitiesProvide tax guidance, advice and risk management support for Kikoff’s growth strategy, and manage tax-related requirements for business license applicationsPrepare or review and conclude on analysis of complex issues, including tax accounting issues, with significant impact to KikoffServe as primary liaison with the IRS and state tax authorities during audits, managing document requests, audit strategy, and resolutionPartner with accounting team on cash management, and facilitate cash transfers between customers, entities, banks and partnersResponsible for reviewing and signing off on all quarterly and annual tax accounting for financial and SEC reporting purposesPresent quarterly updates on tax and treasury compliance, reporting and strategic planning to the Audit CommitteeImplement and oversee all internal SOX controls for corporate taxes and treasury managementManage the company’s corporate cash management banking partners, excess cash investment strategy and investment policyPartner with internal and external teams on any M&A activity, including due diligence and post-acquisition integration efforts and related tax planningOwn indirect tax compliance (sales tax), including evaluating the financial, system, and operational considerations for compliance obligationsExperience12+ years of experience in global corporate tax including previous Big 4 Tax and industry experience; some experience with treasury operations expectedIndustry experience at a late-stage or public Fintech, or e-commerce / marketplace / internet company(ies) with high transaction volumes preferredA degree in accounting or finance; CPA or equivalent license expectedIn-depth knowledge of US GAAP tax accounting rules and pronouncementsStrong and effective communications skills, including the ability to synthesize complex tax issues and be able to communicate them clearly and succinctly to all levelsOutstanding business acumen and action-oriented leader who gets things doneEnergetic team player and relationship builder who inspires trust and confidenceBase Range$255,000 - $270,000 USDEqual Employment Opportunity StatementKikoff Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
