Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled AWS Data Engineer with a strong background in data engineering and extensive experience with AWS services, ETL, and big data tools. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing data pipelines, leveraging AWS services, and developing efficient data solutions that meet the business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using AWS services such as Athena, EMR, EC2, Lambda, and Glue.
Use Docker or ECS to containerize applications and manage deployments.
Implement and manage event-driven architectures using Event
Bridge and CloudWatch for monitoring and alerting.
Work with Airflow for orchestration of data workflows, ensuring reliable and timely data processing.
Perform ETL operations using SQL scripts, Informatica, and Python/PySpark for data transformation and integration.
Design and maintain data storage solutions using Aurora, PostgreSQL, Redshift, and other database services on AWS.
Develop and maintain documentation, ensuring all data engineering practices adhere to best practices and data governance standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field.
5+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles.
Strong hands-on experience with AWS services including Athena, Docker or ECS, EMR, EC2, Lambda, Glue, CloudWatch, EventBridge.
Expertise in SQL and experience with Aurora, PostgreSQL, and Redshift.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, PySpark, and SQL scripting for data processing and transformation.
Experience with ETL tools like Informatica.
Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modeling, and experience working with big data.
Ability to monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data pipelines and workflows.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with data governance and security best practices in AWS environments.
Certification in AWS (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics, AWS Certified Solutions Architect).
Familiarity with CI/CD processes and DevOps practices for data engineering.
