Solomons Nursing and Rehab Center is seeking a Per Diem Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) to join our dedicated rehabilitation team. $37-$45/hour (depending on hours & experience) We are looking for a motivated OTA who is passionate about helping patients rebuild strength, independence, and confidence to safely return home and resume meaningful daily life. Position Summary: This position provides direct therapeutic services in occupational therapy to support residents’ acquisition and enhancement of functional performance skills needed for daily life activities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Administers treatment to patients in compliance with physician’s prescriptions or referral after reviewing patient’s history and progress report. Performs procedures such as range of motion, manual muscle test, ADL, sensory motor, sensation, perception and adapts tasks as needed. Writes and charts progress notes as required and reports patient’s status in weekly scheduled meetings. Reports any significant change in patient’s status to appropriate personnel, e.g. nursing or physician. Instructs the patient or family members, nursing staff and others with respect to treatment procedures or programs, safety precautions, home exercise program, etc., and submits written instructions to patient and family members when indicated. Reports needed supplies and repairs of equipment to Director of Rehab and assists in housekeeping duties and caring for equipment. Performs all tasks and duties in an efficient and safe manner. Performs other related duties as assigned or as necessary. Remains flexible and adaptable in work schedules and work assignments as defined by departmental and facility needs. Qualifications: Must have graduated from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program Must have a valid professional license and registration for state of practice.
