Automotive Upholsterer Peoplelink Staffing , in partnership with a prominent warehouse in the Petersburg, VA area, is seeking an Automotive Upholsterer to join their team! Yard Jockey Job Summary: Pay: $18 an hour Shifts Available: 1st Shift: 8am - 5pm The Automotive Upholsterer uses patterns, various hand tools, and a glue booth to cut and apply vinyl, leather, carpet, foam, and related materials to seat frames and interior panels. This role supports overall shop operations and ensures finished products meet company quality expectations. Upholsterer Responsibilities: Apply foam, leather, vinyl, and heat barrier materials to wood panels, seat frames, foam, and heatshields. Assemble finished seats, interior components, and heat shields. Safely operate staple guns, glue guns, seam rippers, upholstery scissors, and other hand tools Assist with sewing, auto-cutting equipment, stack cutting, packing, quality assurance, and other shop tasks as assigned Maintain clean and safe work areas Follow all safety and quality standards Utilizes personal computers and software tools, including Microsoft Office, email, and scheduling/meeting applications. Assists with research and development activities, including developing new product patterns, evaluating new materials, testing prototype upholstery components, supporting design improvements, and collaborating with the Upholstery Manager to implement innovative production methods. Upholsterer Duties: High school diploma or equivalent required Upholstery experience or equivalent experience with assembly and hand tools Ability to read and interpret written and pictorial patterns and instructions Strong attention to detail Ability to use upholstery tools safely, accurately, and efficiently Automotive, marine, or other industrial upholstery and/or sewing experience preferred Bilingual (Spanish) a plus Must pass a pre-employment drug test Ability to stand for 9 hours per day Ability to lift or push up to 50 pounds Why Peoplelink Staffing?
