Event and Sponsorship Coordinator

The Event and Sponsorship Coordinator will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing the organization’s fundraising activities with a focus on the cultivation and stewardship of corporate event sponsors and community relationships. The successful candidate will also be responsible for the planning, execution, and growth of fundraising and donor cultivation events, including signature fundraising events. They will serve as the Development Department Representative at community events by performing the following duties.        DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:1.     Plans and executes all events within prescribed budgets and timelines.2.     Generates expense and income budgets for each event.3.     Interacts with event attendees.4.     Develops and maintains a corporate solicitation program to create and enhance relationships with area businesses and community groups for the purpose of securing program and event sponsorships and in-kind donations to support development activities. 5.     Coordinates with gift officers to ensure benefits granted to major corporate donors. 6.     Oversees corporate sponsor benefits.7.     Coordinates outside vendors.8.     Coordinates any necessary event media with the Communications Department.9.     Oversees the silent auction, prize, and in-kind donation solicitations for each event.10. Analyzes financial outcomes and ensures timely and appropriate follow-up on all events, including preparing reports for the department as needed.11. Oversees donor and participant acknowledgement.12. Coordinates event volunteers with the Director of Volunteer Services and directs the work of event volunteers.13. Assists with other development-related tasks as required.14. Participates in creating a thriving culture of philanthropy at the SPCA Serving Erie County by increasing awareness and support of our organization, maintaining a high level of knowledge and support of SPCA programs and events, sharing a passion for service to animals and people within our community, and serving as an inspiration by providing an exemplary level of animal care and guest service. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATES/LICENSES:·        Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from a four-year college or university; and two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.·        Valid driver's license COMPUTER SKILLS:·        To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Canva, iMovie or similar video editing software, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Qgiv/Bloomerang or other event software, Blackbaud software such as Team Raiser, NXT, and RE. PHYSICAL DEMANDS·        While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must have the ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:·        Leadership and customer service skills·        Ability to multitask and oversee multiple events at once·        Resilience and adaptability·        Ability to brainstorm and integrate originality into events·        Experience in and aptitude for effectively working with volunteers·        Ability to work on a team and delegate as needed·        Must be flexible, working long hours, including evenings and weekends as needed·     General knowledge of the animal welfare industry is a plus.·     Demonstrated commitment to the mission and goals of the SPCA.
