SQL Database Administrator / Engineer - Hedge fund

Our client, a growing hedge fund based in NY is looking for an SQL DBA / Developer to join the team.  They are looking for a motivated technologist who thrives on solving complex challenges and designing resilient, secure, and high-performance systems. You will play a key role in shaping the firm’s next-generation data platform. Skills:3+ years of professional experience, ideally within the financial sector (equity, credit, derivatives trading environments)Strong proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL)Development experience across multiple languages (SQL, PowerShell, Python) for solving complex problems and building automationExperience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and scripting for repeatable deploymentsDatabase performance tuning and optimization: ability to analyze execution plans, manage indexing strategies, and troubleshoot query bottlenecksDatabase design and modelling fundamentals: normalization, constraints, transactions, and schema versioning Pluses:Experience with Apache Iceberg on object storage (S3) and engines.Exposure to multiple database platforms such as PostgreSQL, Snowflake, Redshift, MongoDB, Cassandra, etc.Exposure to distributed data platforms (Kafka.)Familiarity with enterprise infrastructure (storage, networking, compute), Linux and Windows Server.Exposure to Kubernetes
