Structural Engineer
CEC has an immediate opening for a licensed Structural Engineer.

This job will provide an opportunity to work on conventional, unique, and complex projects for IDOT, county highway departments, local public agencies/municipalities, contractors and more, involving overlays and joint replacements, bridge deck replacements, structure reconstruction, superstructure/substructure replacements and widening, Type, Size and Location Plans, Structure Geotechnical Reports, and Bridge Condition Reports.
Responsibilities include:
Structural design calculations, plans, specifications, cost estimates, reports, and contracts.
Structural analyses, bridge inspections, load ratings and inspection reports.
Hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for bridges and box culverts.
Work and coordinate with the CEC Highway Team, as required.
Construction Engineering and observation to assure conformance with specifications.
Shop drawing review
Construction services for contractors such as Demolition Plans, Jacking and Cribbing, Temporary Soil Retention Systems, Cofferdams, etc.
Coordinate and communicate, in-person and remotely, with clients, technicians, engineers, sub-consultants, and contractors.
Participate in planning, cost development and management, and scheduling for assigned projects.
Qualifications
BS Degree in Engineering.
Professional Engineer License is desired but not required.
Illinois Licensed Structural Engineer.
Design and inspection experience on structural projects in Illinois according to IDOT standards is desired but not required.
Experience with governmental agencies within the State of Illinois is desired but not required.
Experience in the planning and design of transportation structures including bridges, culverts, retaining walls, etc. is desired, but not required.
Valid driver's license
Skills
Excellent computer and communication skills.
Experience with Microstation/OpenRoads Designer/OpenBridge Modeler) and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D is desired but not required.
Experience with Midas Civil, RISA, and AASHTOWare is desired, but not required.
Must be able to collaborate remotely.
