Electric, you aren't just applying for job, you are building a career.About this Role - Senior Purchasing AgentWe are looking for a talented Senior Purchasing Agent that has a passion for quality construction. This position is responsible for leading material procurement efforts on major construction projects and provides mentoring to fellow team members.What You'll Do- Leads the procurement efforts on multiple or complex large projects.- Provides management, guidance, and assistance to the purchasing department personnel.- Selects vendors, assesses vendor capabilities, evaluates vendor performance, develops alternate sources, and negotiates price and delivery.- Recommends major purchases of materials based on specifications, current lead times and cost.- Makes certain that purchasing documents are properly completed and the terms and conditions of purchases are appropriate.- Assures that department records are maintained and that purchases are followed up or expedited when required.- Analyze price histories to provide information on price variances.- Sets up annual blanket pricing agreements.- Prepares correspondence, presentations and reports for key customers and management.- Works with the estimating department on pricing of estimates.- Works with project management to procure materials at the correct cost and in a timely manner.What You'll Bring- 7+ years of electrical construction material procurement experience is preferred- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business or Engineering- Related experience in the electrical construction industry will be considered- Experience working in electrical distribution is preferred- Knowledge of standard purchasing procedures and practices- Ability to explain and motivate others to follow Company purchasing practices and procedures.- Good negotiating and interpersonal skills- Proven communication, organizational, presentation and analytical skills.- Strong managerial skills.- Ability to build and maintain strong Vendor relationships.- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.- Skill in preparing and maintaining procurements records.- Knowledge of JD Edwards, Microsoft Office and OutlookWhat You'll Get- 401(k) with company match (Traditional & Roth)- Paid Holidays and PTO- Medical, Dental, and Vision- Flexible Spending Accounts- Health Savings Account- Accident Insurance- Hospital Indemnity Insurance- Critical Illness Insurance- LifeLock Identity Theft Protection- Employee Discounts- Short-Term & Long-Term Disability
