About This Role Senior Purchasing AgentWe are looking for a talented Senior Purchasing Agent that has a passion for quality construction. This position is responsible for leading material procurement efforts on major construction projects and provides mentoring to fellow team members. What You'll Do Leads the procurement efforts on multiple or complex large projects. Provides management, guidance, and assistance to the purchasing department personnel. Selects vendors, assesses vendor capabilities, evaluates vendor performance, develops alternate sources, and negotiates price and delivery. Recommends major purchases of materials based on specifications, current lead times and cost. Makes certain that purchasing documents are properly completed and the terms and conditions of purchases are appropriate. Assures that department records are maintained and that purchases are followed up or expedited when required. Analyzes price histories to provide information on price variances. Sets up annual blanket pricing agreements. Prepares correspondence, presentations and reports for key customers and management. Works with the estimating department on pricing of estimates. Works with project management to procure materials at the correct cost and in a timely manner. What You'll Bring 7+ years of electrical construction material procurement experience is preferred Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business or Engineering Related experience in the electrical construction industry will be considered Experience working in electrical distribution is preferred Knowledge of standard purchasing procedures and practices Ability to explain and motivate others to follow Company purchasing practices and procedures. Good negotiating and interpersonal skills Proven communication, organizational, presentation and analytical skills. Strong managerial skills. Ability to build and maintain strong vendor relationships. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Skill in preparing and maintaining procurements records.
