Location: Hattiesburg, Mississippi, 39406-0001, United States Division: Curriculum and Instruction Position Type: Staff Employment Status: Full Time Grant Funded: Yes Pay Grade: X07 Posting Close Date: Open Until Filled Job Summary The Program Coordinator will play a vital role in facilitating the day-to-day operations of the teacher apprenticeship program, ensuring its smooth functioning, and supporting the growth and development of aspiring teachers. The program coordinator will work collaboratively with the Mississippi Center for Apprenticeships and Residency in Education (MCARE) team to provide a quality experience for apprenticeship students through organized programming, consistent communication, and service orientation. This position reports to the Executive Director of MCARE and will support program expansion and sustainability. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Manages the daily administrative responsibilities of the teacher apprenticeship program including event coordination (registration, scheduling, event management), record keeping, database management, as well as financial and human resources processes. Provides critical support for teacher apprenticeship sustainability. Support would include targeted programming, external funding, and outreach. Outreach includes identification of new partners and potential funding opportunities. Assistance with grant proposals and funding applications is required. Engages in ongoing recruitment and selection of participants. Recruitment efforts include identification of aspiring teachers through outreach efforts, application management, and candidate communications. The program coordinator, in conjunction with program leadership, will also support the selection process activities which may include interviews, assessments, and/or candidate evaluations. Provides support to program participants. The program coordinator will serve as the primary point of contact for program participants, addressing inquiries, providing guidance, and offering support throughout their apprenticeship journey. Additionally, the coordinator will be asked to plan and monitor mentorship and professional development opportunities for aspiring teachers, fostering their growth and success in the program. Manages relationships with partners to maximize program effectiveness, including school districts, community organizations, and funding agencies. The coordinator will facilitate consistent and frequent communication between program partners to ensure alignment of goals and objectives. Engages in data collection, analysis, and reporting related to all program activities to support evidence of participant progress and program effectiveness while engaged in continuous improvement. The coordinator may be asked to generate reports and/or presentations to summarize and communicate the key findings of program evaluation. Performs other duties assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, education, or a related field. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Demonstrates the ability to deliver accurate, concise, and high-quality communication (verbal and written) in a timely manner Adapts communication style to meet the needs of diverse audiences and situations Provides clear and constructive feedback Ability to perform data entry and extract information from applicable systems Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Adobe Proficiency in general computer usage Ability to prepare routine reports and correspondence Ability to exercise discretion, maintain confidentiality, and apply sound judgment when handling sensitive information Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a collaborative environment Preferred Qualifications Master's degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, education, or a related field. One (1) year of experience in grant writing. One (1) year of experience with non-profit management. Three (3) years of experience in Higher Education or public K-12 settings. Three (3) years of experience with apprenticeship or other Department of Labor programming.
