Psychiatrist - Residential Treatment

Growth Centers of AmericaPosition OverviewThe Psychiatrist plays a critical leadership role in supporting the psychiatric, emotional, and behavioral health needs of adolescents within our residential treatment program. This position works collaboratively with therapists, nurses, behavioral staff, educators, and program leadership to provide comprehensive psychiatric care in a safe, structured, and trauma-informed environment.The Psychiatrist is responsible for psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, medication management, treatment planning, crisis intervention support, and ongoing collaboration with the multidisciplinary treatment team to ensure high-quality care for adolescents experiencing mental health, behavioral, substance use, and dual-diagnosis challenges.What You'll DoPsychiatric Care & Clinical OversightConduct psychiatric evaluations, assessments, and diagnostic reviews for adolescent clientsDevelop individualized treatment recommendations and psychiatric care plansProvide medication management, monitoring, and ongoing psychiatric follow-up careAssess clients for emotional, behavioral, psychiatric, and safety concernsCollaborate with therapists, nurses, behavioral staff, and leadership regarding client progress and treatment planningProvide clinical guidance and support during psychiatric or behavioral crisesEvaluate risk related to self-harm, suicidality, aggression, elopement, or psychiatric instabilityMaintain appropriate therapeutic boundaries and professionalism with adolescent clientsParticipate in treatment team meetings, case consultations, and clinical discussionsSupport continuity of care with outside providers, hospitals, and referral sources when appropriateDocumentation & ComplianceMaintain timely, accurate, and thorough psychiatric documentation, evaluations, progress notes, and medication recordsEnsure compliance with HIPAA, licensing regulations, accreditation standards, and company policiesComplete clinical documentation within required timelines and facility standardsSupport quality assurance, risk management, and clinical best practicesMaintain confidentiality and professionalism in all client interactions and documentationTeam Collaboration & Therapeutic EnvironmentWork collaboratively within a multidisciplinary treatment team including therapists, nurses, educators, behavioral staff, and leadershipContribute positively to the overall therapeutic and residential environmentSupport a structured, safe, trauma-informed, and clinically appropriate setting for adolescentsParticipate in meetings, trainings, consultations, and ongoing professional developmentProvide support, guidance, and psychiatric insight to treatment staff as neededMaintain flexibility, professionalism, and composure in high-acuity or fast-paced situationsWho You AreYou are compassionate, clinically skilled, and passionate about helping adolescents navigate mental health and behavioral challenges.
