Responsible for designing, building, and maintaining secure, scalable cloud applications and services in an AWS environment, with a focus on delivering reliable solutions that meet federal performance, security, and compliance requirements.All applicants must currently reside in the United States.What you will doDesign, develop, and maintain secure, scalable cloud-native applications and services within an AWS environmentBuild and deploy APIs, microservices, and serverless solutions to support mission-critical federal government initiativesCollaborate with architects, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions in an Agile environmentImplement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployment processes to improve efficiency and reliabilityMonitor application performance and system health using AWS monitoring and logging tools, ensuring availability and operational excellenceApply AWS security best practices, including IAM, encryption, logging, and least-privilege access controls to meet federal security requirementsTroubleshoot, optimize, and enhance cloud applications for performance, scalability, and reliabilitySupport cloud modernization efforts by leveraging AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, VPC, and CloudWatchContribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to automate processes and improve development workflowsEnsure solutions align with federal compliance, security, and operational standardsWhat you need to haveBachelor's Degree and 5 to 8 years of experience5+ years of software development experience, including 3+ years in AWSStrong hands-on experience with core AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, and API GatewayProficiency in one or more modern languages: Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript/TypeScriptExperience building and deploying cloud-native applications, APIs, and microservicesStrong understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, and automationExperience with security best practices, including least-privilege access, encryption, logging, and monitoringFamiliarity with federal government environments and secure delivery expectationsAbility to work in an agile team and collaborate with architects, engineers, and stakeholdersWhat we'd like you to haveAWS certificationsPython development experienceExperience with containers and orchestration, such as Docker, Kubernetes, or ECSExperience with serverless architectureExposure to FedRAMP, NIST, or other federal security frameworksClearance or ability to obtain one, if required by the clientAbout BigBear.aiBigBear.ai is a leading provider of AI-powered decision intelligence solutions for national security, supply chain management, and digital identity.
