The OpportunityLeavitt Machinery is looking for a mechanically inclined Field Technician (Heavy Equipment or Automotive Mechanic) to join our Service team in Lakewood, Washington. Reporting to the Service Manager, the Field Technician will be assigned to a variety of machinery repair tasks required by our loyal customers.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesAs a Field Technician your key responsibilities will include:Diagnosing, repairing, and completing routine maintenance and safety inspections on a variety of material handling equipment and machineryMaintaining effective and consistent communication with the Service Dispatcher regarding ongoing Service jobs, and completing assigned tasks in a timely mannerDiscussing Service job details with customers and communicating a clear understanding of the job scope and repair requirementsCommunicating with the Parts department via phone and email to ensure required parts are ordered, and preparing required parts before visiting job sitesMaintaining proper documentation where needed, including work order forms and warranty paperworkReporting any safety incidents promptly and adhering to all safety policies Required Skills & QualificationsThe ideal candidate will possess the following skills, knowledge, and competencies:At least 5 years of heavy equipment or automotive repair experience in a related industryRelevant trade certificationExperience with hydraulics and diagnosing and servicing electric engines is a strong assetPrevious aerial platform and lift truck experience an assetStrong communication skills, including the ability to partner effectively with external customers and internal stakeholdersExcellent problem-solving skills and strong aptitude for learning and applying mechanical and technical conceptsStrong work ethic and a positive attitudeHigh school diplomaValid driver's license and ability to travel to customer sites in the region is required Benefits & Perks Leavitt Machinery USA is proud to offer competitive compensation and flexible benefits coverage for all eligible employees:Company-matched 401K contributionsComprehensive and competitive medical health care planMedical benefits and extended health service coveragePrescription drug coverageDental plan and vision planTelehealth plan with MDLiveLife insurance and disability insuranceEmployee assistance programsOngoing professional development and training opportunitiesThe base pay range for this role is: $35.00 to $43.25 per hour depending on experience.This is an onsite role based in Lakewood, Washington.Leavitt Machinery would like to thank all applicants for their interest, however; only qualified applicants will be contacted by Talent Acquisition for an interview.
