Facility Technician

This role is hands on and covers a wide range of mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems within a large facility environment. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, safety focused, and eager to grow technical expertise.ResponsibilitiesOperate, maintain, and repair assigned facility machinery and equipment to ensure continuous and efficient operationPerform preventive and corrective maintenance on:Chillers (centrifugal and screw type)Cooling towers and air handling unitsHVAC and air conditioning systemsVariable frequency drives (VFDs)Building Automation Systems (pneumatic and DDC)Electrical and electrical distribution systems (including ballast replacement)Plumbing and piping systemsPumps, air compressors, generators, and internal combustion enginesIce machines and related equipmentEnsure safe, economical operation of the facility at all timesComplete assigned work orders and accurately document progress and completion in an automated work order systemFollow all safety procedures and prioritize the safety of employees, visitors, and contractorsConduct routine inspections and identify potential equipment or safety issuesParticipate in training, seminars, and skill building activities to enhance technical knowledgeIdentify energy conservation opportunities and support implementation effortsAssist with ongoing review and improvement of engineering procedures and practicesPerform other related duties as assigned in support of facility operationsRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED2+ years of experience in facilities maintenance or building operationsBasic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systemsAbility to read and work from blueprints and schematicsAbility to safely operate company owned vehicles without restrictionsPreferred QualificationsHands on experience or strong interest in learning maintenance and repair of:Boilers, chillers, cooling towers, HVAC systems, and Client controlsElectrical distribution, plumbing, and piping systemsExperience using automated work order management systemsFamiliarity with Building Automation Systems such as Siemens or Johnson ControlsExperience ordering supplies and managing maintenance documentationProficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, including maintaining spreadsheetsAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender, identity, national origin, disability, or protected veteran status.
