Duties
Lead and supervise all store operations, including sales, customer service, inventory control, and staff management.
Recruit, interview, and onboard new employees while providing ongoing training and development to enhance team performance.
Manage employee orientation programs to ensure staff are well-informed about store policies, procedures, and customer service standards.
Oversee payroll processing, bookkeeping, and cash handling procedures with accuracy and integrity.
Implement effective merchandising strategies and oversee stocking, pricing, and promotional activities to maximize sales.
Utilize POS systems for sales transactions, returns, and inventory tracking while maintaining accurate records.
Conduct regular inventory management tasks such as stock ordering, purchasing, inventory audits, and shrinkage prevention.
Develop and execute marketing initiatives to attract new customers and retain existing ones.
Manage shift schedules ensuring adequate coverage during peak hours while maintaining optimal store operations.
Monitor retail math metrics including sales targets, budgeting, and profitability to meet or exceed business goals.
Foster a positive team environment through leadership in training & development programs and performance evaluations.
Ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and legal regulations related to retail operations.
Handle customer inquiries with professionalism using excellent phone etiquette while resolving issues promptly.
Coordinate with suppliers for purchasing needs and negotiate terms to optimize costs.
Maintain organizational efficiency by overseeing administrative tasks such as record keeping and reporting.
Experience
Proven management experience in retail environments with a focus on supervising teams in fast-paced settings.
Demonstrated expertise in retail sales management including merchandising, pricing strategies, and marketing initiatives.
Strong background in employee recruitment, interviewing, training & development, and performance management.
Proficiency in POS systems, cash handling procedures, bookkeeping, payroll processing, and inventory management software.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate teams and foster a collaborative work environment.
Multilingual or bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse customer bases effectively.
Experience in grocery or specialty retail stores is advantageous but not required; a solid understanding of retail math is essential.
Prior assistant manager or supervisory experience that showcases leadership capabilities is preferred.
Skills in negotiation with vendors or suppliers will be beneficial for purchasing negotiations.
