Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher - Hernando, MS

This opportunity is for an experienced Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing to provide specialized instruction and support to students with hearing impairments in a school setting in Hernando, MS. The role involves adapting curricula, implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), and collaborating with educators, audiologists, and families to enhance student learning and communication skills. Key Responsibilities:Deliver instruction tailored to the unique needs of deaf and hard-of-hearing students.Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs).Utilize a variety of teaching techniques including sign language, auditory training, and technology-assisted learning.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including speech therapists and audiologists.Provide guidance and support to families regarding communication strategies and resources.Maintain accurate records of student progress and compliance with educational standards. Qualifications and Desired Experience:Valid teaching certification/license related to Deaf/Hard of Hearing education.Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing in a K-12 setting.Knowledge of hearing assistive technologies and communication modes such as American Sign Language (ASL).Strong communication and teamwork skills.Commitment to professional development and meeting students' individualized needs.
