PLC & Robotics Engineer

Job description: This position can be based at any of the following company locations:Long Valley, NJ (Headquarters) 91 Fairview AvenueDyersburg, TN 3000 Burkes PlaceIdaho Falls, ID 2255 West 49th Street SouthLamar, SC 4537 Lamar HighwayWaterloo, NY 1291 Waterloo Geneva RoadTravel: This role requires approximately 2530% travel to the other company manufacturing locations to support projects, automation initiatives, and operational improvements.Design, develop, program, and troubleshoot PLC control systems and industrial automation systems.Write and maintain software for automation and machine control systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards.Develop and support PLC programs, including ongoing maintenance and system optimization.Program and support industrial robots to ensure reliable and efficient operation.Design algorithms and collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate robotic hardware and software solutions.Develop and maintain Standard Work Instructions for production processes.Lead or support the selection and implementation of automation equipment to increase production output and reduce operating costs.Provide technical support to manufacturing operations including machine troubleshooting and fabrication processes such as cutting, punching, welding, and painting.Analyze production data and reports to identify opportunities to improve methods, tooling, equipment utilization, productivity, and quality.Work with vendors to define equipment specifications and support capital equipment purchases that enhance manufacturing capabilities.Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.5+ years of manufacturing engineering or PLC programming experience in an industrial manufacturing environment preferred.Hands-on experience with metal cutting, forming, and welding processes, including robotic welding.Experience with machine design and machine control systems, including writing control logic for PLCs and CNC controls.Demonstrated knowledge of equipment controls and PLC programming; automation and robotics experience strongly preferred.Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies (Green or Black Belt training is a plus).Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively across teams.Why is This a Great Opportunity: Play a key role in driving automation and modernizing manufacturing operations.Opportunity to work on robotics, PLC systems, and advanced manufacturing technologies.Direct impact on process improvement, cost reduction, and production efficiency.A hands-on engineering role with strong visibility and influence within manufacturing operations.
