This role ensures regulatory compliance, drives continuous improvement, oversees quality and food safety systems, and provides strategic leadership to maintain a safe, secure, compliant, and high-performing operation in alignment with corporate, regional, and regulatory standards.ResponsibilitiesLead and manage ESSHQ operations across three sites, ensuring regulatory and corporate complianceDirect and develop a technically competent ESSHQ team, including training, coaching, and performance managementDevelop, implement, and maintain ESSHQ policies, procedures, and management systemsOversee environmental, process safety, industrial hygiene, loss prevention, and emergency response programsServe as site authority for regulatory compliance (OSHA, EPA, DOT, DHS, NFPA, TSCA, etc.) and auditsManage site emergency response, crisis management, and incident command responsibilitiesLead security operations, including contractor security, investigations, and Homeland Security complianceManage quality systems, food safety programs (HACCP, SQF/FSSC), and continuous quality improvementDrive cost control, budgeting, and capital planning for ESSHQ-related programsRepresent the site with external agencies, industry groups, insurers, and community organizationsRequirementsBachelor’s degree in chemical, Environmental, Industrial, Health & Safety Engineering or related field (preferred)Professional certifications preferred (CSP, CHMM, CIH, CPEA or equivalent)5–10 years of ESSHQ experience, preferably in a chemical manufacturing environment3–5 years of management experience with direct reportsStrong working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, DHS, NFPA, TSCA, and process safety regulationsExperience with management systems (ISO 9001, RC14001, ISO 50001, FSSC 22000/SQF)Proven leadership and ability to influence senior leaders and cross-functional teamsExperience leading audits, regulatory inspections, and corrective action programsStrong communication, investigation, and root-cause analysis skillsAbility to manage multiple sites, budgets, and complex regulatory environmentsSummary Compensation & Benefits:Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
