JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Round on all NICU babies Attend high risk deliveries (typically 67 shifts / month)Back up the Pediatric Hospitalist as requestedAttend High Risk Followup Clinic once per month for a half dayAttend Medical Staff Meetings (General, Peds, Perinatal M&M)Serve on Medical Staff Committees as requested (usually 1 committee)Cover 10 shifts/year at 2nd facility: UCSF Benioff Childrens Hospital, OaklandDETAILS:Level 3 16bed NICUAll highrisk deliveries 35 weeks are shared between the Hospitalists and the NeonatologistsNICU averages about 170 admissions per year Average daily census is approximately 78The NICU manages infants >28 weeks gestation and provides short term conventional ventilation and BCPAPTypically 78 hrs a day are spent doing NICU care with roughly 4-6 hrs being on rounds and the remainder attending high risk deliveries.Day shift is from 7AM through 5PM.
