Senior Designer

Job Title: Senior DesignerA contemporary outerwear and lifestyle fashion brand known for elevated, versatile style is seeking a Senior Designer to lead the design and development of innovative, trend-right collections that align with the brand’s vision and customer. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly creative and commercially minded designer to play a key role in shaping seasonal assortments and driving product growth.The Senior Designer will manage an Assistant Designer and report directly to the VP of Sales & Merchandising, partnering closely on product strategy, assortment planning, and execution.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the design and development of seasonal collections from concept through production, with a focus on outerwear and related categories Research market trends, consumer insights, fabric innovations, and competitor landscape to create fresh, commercially relevant designs Develop mood boards, color palettes, silhouettes, trims, and seasonal concepts aligned with brand direction Create detailed sketches, tech packs, and specifications for product development and production teams Manage fittings, sample reviews, and revisions to ensure fit, quality, and design integrity Collaborate closely with the VP of Sales & Merchandising to align product offerings with sales goals and market opportunities Oversee and mentor an Assistant Designer, delegating tasks and supporting professional growth Partner with cross-functional teams including sourcing, production, sales, and merchandising to ensure timely delivery of collections Maintain awareness of costing targets and margin goals throughout the design process Qualifications5+ years of design experience in women’s apparel, preferably outerwear or contemporary fashion Strong understanding of garment construction, fabrication, fit, and product lifecycle Proven ability to design commercially successful product lines with a strong fashion point of view Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop) and PLM systems preferred Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple seasons and deadlines simultaneously Leadership experience or previous management of junior team members preferred Excellent communication and collaboration skillsSalary $150,000-$185,000
